Department History
The department was established in 1964 as the Department of Philosophy. It has been led by T. Jovliyev, O. Ergashev, A. Choriyev, and Sanjar Choriyev. Currently, the head of the department is Gulshoda Hayitovna Bekmurodova, Doctor of Philosophy and Professor.
The department is conducting scientific research on the topics “The dialectics of objective conditions and subjective factors in the formation of a human personality of a humanistic type” and “The impact of contemporary civilization on the social image of man.” Over the years, 3 doctoral (DSc) and more than 20 philosophical doctoral (PhD) dissertations have been successfully defended on these topics. Currently, the department is preparing 3 doctoral (DSc) and 5 philosophical doctoral (PhD) dissertations. Professors and lecturers of the department regularly publish numerous scientific and methodological works, including 5 textbooks, 10 teaching manuals, more than 20 educational-methodological guides, and scientific monographs. Additionally, scientific articles are published in internationally recognized journals indexed in the Web of Science database as well as in journals approved by the Academic Council.
The department has established scientific relations with a number of prestigious higher education institutions. To regularly ensure the effectiveness of scientific research work, the department has developed academic collaborations with Moscow State University, Uzbekistan National University, BelSU, TurinPU, SamSU, BukhSU, TerSU, and other institutions.
